Roberto Miller Writer. Director. Producer. Visual storyteller. After completing a far too sensible study of computer science in college, Roberto became a journalist abroad writing articles about sailing and music for publications such as The Wall Street Journal. Editors at the time complained that his writing was too visual and suggested he pick up a camera for the "visual stuff." A balance was struck between words and images but it wasn't long before before an editor suggested he look at a screenplay. "Robert" was born in the Garden District of New Orleans on Christmas Day and owes the "o" in his nickname to family roots in Honduras. Roberto returned from living and working abroad (Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Middle East) and settled in the San Francisco area. He wrote and produced videos and multimedia for the Computer Science Department at Stanford University until Sony agreed to lend him their prototype digital camera to make a short film. The short, Mail Bonding, screened at 30 film festivals worldwide and enjoyed sales in Europe and the U.S. Today, Roberto strives to balance a feature film project and with video projects for clients such as HP and Apple. |
